Homemade Waffles

We have waffles with real maple syrup almost every Sunday for breakfast. I love the smell of them in the house, but hate the cost of buying the box mix.

This morning the kids and I took a little adventure in making some buttery waffles to fill our hungry bellies.

 
 
Homemade Waffles
 
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 2 minutes each waffle
Serving Size: 1 1/2 cup of mix makes 6 waffles
 
Ingredients for Mix:
 
9 cups all purpose flour
7 tablespoons baking powder
2 tablespoons salt
1/2 cup sugar
 
Ingredients for Waffles:
 
1 1/2 cup mix
1 1/4 cup milk
1 large egg
2 1/2 tablespoons melted butter
1 teaspoon pure vanilla
 
Instructions:
 
1. Add all ingredients for waffle mix into a freezer bag. Zip and shake until all ingredients are mixed well. Mix is now ready.
2. In a medium bowl mix milk, egg, melted butter and pure vanilla.
3. Add in waffle mix and blend all ingredients together.
4. Pour over a hot waffle griddle.
5. Enjoy with syrup.
